Some business use a normal PC to act as a server to cut down costs, is this good Idea? The answer is NO. When the PC (acting as a server) crashes it will cost more to get the infrastructure back in working order. A pc cannot perform as a server; a server is build up of hardware which can perform way better than a PC with more options. A proper server is a combination of server hardware and licensed operating system. It is recommended that a college maintains minimum two servers one dedicated to the management and operations of the college and another for the students.
